Hew Is Why Apple Is Limiting iPhone 7 Qualcomm LTE Chip Download Speeds

Apple has been reported to limit LTE speeds on the iPhone 7 models having the Qualcomm modems so that it can match modem speeds of the Intel Modem model iPhone 7. According to Recode, certain tests have been carried by cellular experts.

The results show that Apple is artificially slowing down the speed with which the Verizon and Sprint iPhone 7 having Qualcomm modems connect to the network. Although the speed will be compromised, the hardware which has been included in the Verizon and Sprint 7 model will increase its performance.

The reason behind this speed limitation move is simple. The LTE chips are manufactured by two different providers with two different specifications. The Verizon iPhone 7 Qualcomm model has a higher speed than that of the AT&T model with the Intel modem.

The Qualcomm model gives speeds of 600Mbps and the Intel chips only reaches 450Mbps. Therefore the latest suspicion that Apple has halted the speed of the Qualcomm model so that all iPhones work on the same speed is not all rumors.
