Social media is an important factor in driving customers to Black Friday sales. Target' Sunday Black Friday sale went viral on Facebook.

The Target Black Friday 2016 sale has not even launched yet, but it is already winning Facebook. According to social media analytics sourced from Buzzsumo, Target's Black Friday page has been shared 109,000 times on Facebook in the past 24 hours.

Target's Electronics sale as part of the 10 Days of Deals has grabbed the attention of Facebook users. To put this number in perspective, the second most Black Friday related content was shared 10 times less.

Retailers are competing for attention during the Thanksgiving week. We have seen over the past years a decline in the attention span and time consumers invest in researching Black Friday deals. Social media is a major source of shoppers to find out which deals to get, without having to do their own research.

The problem with this is that deals shared on social media might not be the best deals. The problem is comparable to the fake news controversy in Facebook. We recommend to always compare the price of a deal on other stores.

On Monday Target will offer 20 percent off kitchen purchases, including Calphalon, Cuisinart, Keurig, KitchenAid, Ninja, OXO and Threshold as part of the 10 Days of deals sale. 

On Wednesday, Nov. 23, the Target Black Friday Presale begins, with more chances to shop select doorbuster deals early at all stores via Cartwheel and online. The Target Black Friday 2016 Presale offers will be available to view and shop on Nov. 23.

The Target Black Friday deals will be available online with free shipping all day Thanksgiving, Thursday, Nov. 24, and in all Target stores when our doors open at 6pm that evening. 

Target is extending free shipping by a full week this holiday season, waiving the fee for all digital orders from Oct. 25 through Jan. 1, 2017. Guests who shop with a Target REDcard also receive 5 percent savings on nearly all items purchased in stores and online, adding to the significant discounts Target is offering this season.
