Fantastic Beasts Tops the U.S. Box Office with $75 Million

Fantastic Beasts gets the top spot on the U.S. Box Office with $75 million with being the lowest opening in the Wizarding World movies.

There was a great expectation attached to the newly released Wizarding World prequel, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Starring Oscar winning actor Eddie Redmayne in the main role of Magizoologist Newt Scamander, the movie was set in 1920s New York where his collection of fantastic magical creatures and beasts are set free.

The movie also deals with the Wizarding World of U.S.A. which is in a dire state in the time of the movie. With darker forces of its own on the rise, Newt navigates his way through villainous plots to find and recapture his magical assortment of creatures and beasts.

The movie is the first official attempt by Harry Potter author, J.K. Rowling to write a screen play for a movie. The movie has attracted the attention of the whole Potter fandom.

Harry Potter fans from all over the world turned out to support this major events and the veteran production of WB and Producer David Heyman with Director David Yates along with the new cast were fully aware of the magnitude of the fandom’s love. That is why the movie has done extremely well with the critics and the audience alike.

The movie also did well on the U.S. box office by coming out on the number one spot. With a $75 million opening weekend, the movie has topped the box office despite being the lowest opening in the Wizarding World movie, according to BoxOfficeMojo.

Many experts have explained that Fantastic Beasts is an original story, free of the Harry Potter storyline which will explain that it was not received as a Harry Potter movie.

Furthermore, the movie comes after a long time from the last Harry Potter movie which means that it was not able to attract many of the under 18 viewers. The global market is now being looked at to bring the earnings of the movie to a higher gross total.
