The new President-elect Donald Trump will cut NASA’s climate change budget. This is bad news for those who want to be progressive in a humanistic way that is environmentally friendly.

While having Donald Trump in office may spell a progressive stance with astronauts flying to the moon, it will also mean putting the kibosh on the climate change agenda.

Trump will surely appoint Newt Gingrich who is one of his confidantes. A permanent base on the lunar surface may lie in the cards. This may lead to a Mars mission one fine day in the future too.

Gingrich has always supported a base on the moon from the vantage point of which forays could be made by astronauts into the rest of the solar system.

Newt Gingrich even expressed the hope that maybe a colony of 13,000 people could settle on the lunar terrain. Ultimately, Newt wants to have other states of the USA on the moon.

This is a long shot but it might just be worth it. While the moon is still a likely spot to send people, settlement of colonies on Mars is a very difficult proposal.

Trump’s triumph has placed NASA in somewhat of a conundrum. A return to the moon is most likely to occur. Trump will also be appointing several key hand-picked cronies of his in the topmost spots in NASA, according to DailyMail.

Trump’s winning streak may lead to a revival of former President Bush’s lunar plans. Let’s not forget that they were scrapped by the Obama administration.

This emphasis on sending a man to the moon will obviously need extra funds. These will come from the climate change budget. This is sad indeed. Yet Trump is willing to do all that lies in his power to have his way in such things.

Trump’s reiteration that climate change is nothing but a fraud perpetrated by the Chinese government to steal the US manufacturing agenda has really led to a worldwide hue and cry against what appears to be a nonsensical statement at best.

It seems that every POTUS that comes to office has his own point of view and it gets imposed on the nation not to mention the rest of the global village.

Thus this time around such vain and empty projects as sending a man to the moon will take preference over rectifying the climate which is going from bad to worse.
