 CES 2017: World’s First Internet Connected Hearing Aid Wins 2 Innovation Awards

The world’s first internet connected hearing aid is being named a groundbreaking tech achievement

Oticon is a leading company which specializes in developing advanced audiology and hearing aid technology. Oticon just announced they have received not one, but two CES 2017 Innovation Awards.

The awards were granted to Oticon’s product the ‘Opn’. Opn is the world’s first internet connected hearing aid. So far Opn is being hailed as a groundbreaking tech achievement in the field of auditory tech.

The CES Innovation Awards are granted to products which features incredibly innovative design and engineering with cutting edge consumer technology products. 

Opn comes with a system called the BrainHearing. The new BrainHearing solution offers many features for people with hearing loss. It has the ability to connect with other smart devices very easily.

For instance people with hearing loss can use BrainHearing to easily adjust the speaker volume on devices like their smartphones. So far not even the most advanced types of hearing devices could adjust volumes for people with hearing problems, but not anymore thanks to Opn. 

Opn won the CES Innovation Award in two different categories. The first category was the Tech for a Better World, while the second was in the Wearable Technologies.

According to the CTA, Oticon’s presence in both categories proves the company’s commitment towards making a real difference in people’s lives with the use of technology. 

According to Gary Rosenblum, President of Oticon, they are very proud to have been recognized by the CES for their excellence in two categories.

Rosenblum also stated their product Opn is a discreet wearable tech which aims to make the world a better place for peple with hearing loss. With Opn such people can be empowered to take full advantage of both the world of sound and IoT. 

The CES Innovation Awards are sponsored by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), the producer of CES 2017, the global gathering place for all who thrive on the business of consumer technologies. Oticon will exhibit at the upcoming CES 2017 from January 5-8 2017 in Las Vegas. Oticon Opn will be among the outstanding consumer electronics showcased in a gallery of 2017 award honorees on the conference floor.
