The debut episode of The Grand Tour not only took the number one spot, but also became the biggest show premiere ever on Amazon.

The debut episode of the Grand Tour is proving to be more successful than expected. The episode broke records on Amazon Prime Video becoming the most watched show on the video service.

The debut episode also became the biggest show premiere ever on Amazon Prime Video. Millions of Amazon members streamed the first episode of The Grand Tour from the US, UK, Germany, Australia and even Japan.

Least to say the opening weekend of the show has taken the number one spot from the highly acclaimed Amazon Original show ‘The Man in The High Castle’ on the service. 

In addition to an unparalleled customer response the show is also receiving critical acclaim. Currently it is the top rated TV show or movie on IMDb.

From over 10,000 votes it has received an overall rating of 9.6. Even on Amazon Prime it has a rating of 4.5 out of 5, while it’s Rotten Tomatoes score is 97%. That’s not all; on The Grand Tour’s debut premiere the new Prime membership sign-ups exceeded usual sign-up rates. 

According to Jeff Bezos, the CEO of Amazon, the guys are back on The Grand Tour and they are doing what they do best. Bezos stated the chemistry between the trio Jeremy, Richard and James, along with production quality and 4K HDR display can be attributed to the recent success of the show.

Finally Bezos gave Kudos and congrats to the whole team behind The Grand Tour. The debut episode of The Grand Tour was released on the 18th of November and even on Twitter the excitement level had reached quite crescendo, with many fans sharing their excitement.

The second episode will debut on the coming Friday. Further episodes will be released weekly over the next 11 weeks for Prime members in the U.S., U.K., Germany, Austria and Japan, and the show will premiere worldwide for Amazon customers in over 200 countries and territories in December.
