Unless you must be at Walmart of a can’t miss Black Friday deal, going to Walmart when it opens on Black Friday might be a bit of a mistake, according to one employee of a local store. Walmart will prove to be an epicenter of the Black Friday celebration this year, as many people have already been asking questions about what to do at Walmart on Black Friday.

In fact, our source says that this year looks to be the most popular year for Walmart in some time, especially because other stores have disappointed customers with some of their deals.

What Time Should I Get to Walmart on Black Friday?

Walmart will open up at 6 PM on Thanksgiving Day this year, and you can bet people will be in line all day long. At certain locations, per this employee, they are even expecting some people to show up the night before.

Walmart doesn’t have much of a system for lining up, at least at this location, other than waiting, so don’t expect to get a wrist band or a number. However, they WILL have a limited number of maps available so that people can explore their options before they go into the store.

It is important to note that Walmart will start some sales on Thursday at 6 PM and put out another set of sales at 8 AM on Black Friday – and, per our source, they will

We were also reminded that there will be One-Hour Guarantees this year, which means that customers are guaranteed to get certain items during a one hour period. There will be 21 One-Hour Guarantees offered on Black Friday at Walmart this year.

What Are The Most Popular Black Friday Deals At Walmart?

While each location will be different, here are some of the deals that people are calling about this year:

  • Samsung 50-inch Smart 4KTV for $398
  • PlayStation 4 Slim Uncharted 4 500GB bundle for $249 plus a $30 gift card
  • Hatchimals for $48.88
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles RC Mikey for $39
  • Samsung Chromebook 3 for $119
  • iPad Mini 2 32GB for $199
  • Nest Cam for $149
  • Fitbit Charge 2 for $129

Walmart will also have some surprise deals, per our source, and even some that will be added throughout the day, so you might want to go later.

Will Walmart Have Hatchimals on Black Friday?

As mentioned above, Walmart will have Hatchimals on Black Friday as a sale, coming in at $48.88. Per our source, they will be in the Toys Department and not hidden somewhere else like people believe.

Walmart will probably get the largest shipment of Hatchimals out of any other big box store, so this will likely be the best place to get them.

Tips from Walmart Employees on Black Friday Shopping

The employee said that this is the fifth Black Friday in a row where she will be working the opening shift, and she has found some things work better than others. Her tips are:

  • Make a list and use the map to navigate Walmart on Black Friday. You can print one out if you want to start earlier.
  • Establish a meeting place within the store so that your parties can split up. Some areas that won’t be as popular include the food section, pets, and automotive.
  • Do your research! Walmart spent a lot of time creating informational videos about each item so that you don’t have to spend time reading the boxes.
  • CHARGE YOUR PHONE. BRING A PORTABLE CHARGER.
