Jaguar Land Rover is known for its beastly vehicles which are certainly not green for the environment. However it looks like the company is looking forward to change the strategy overall for its production line.

Like other major brands JLR is also all set to invest in hybrid and electric vehicles. It is being said that by the year 2020, Jaguar Land Rover is planning to make almost 50 percent of its vehicles with the electronic and hybrid transmissions.

This decision was made at the JLR headquarters and the announcement was made at the Los Angeles Auto Show last week while the company revealed I-Pace. It looks like with the reveal of I-Pace a new era for the company has started too.

Most of the companies are working on hybrid and electric models as they are better for the emission counts and bear no problem on the environment as well.

Many clients all over the world are getting fond of the electric and hybrid transmission as well due to the efficiency that they provide tote transportation. This is the reason that JLR has decided to make their cars follow these transmissions too.

It will have a power of 400bhp and will be will be able to achieve 0-60 miles per hour in almost four seconds. The pricing of I-Pace has not been revealed yet but is said that it will be a rival to Tesla model X.

Dr Ralf Speth, Jaguar Land Rover CEO, said: “Design leadership, technical innovation and engineering excellence lie at the heart of this responsible business. Both the Jaguar I-PACE Concept and the Land Rover Discovery are revolutionary vehicles and major innovations in each of their segments, sharing our compelling combination of iconic British design and creative engineering.

“We are shaping the future, developing our own approach to autonomy, connectivity and electrification to offer our customers more choice.”

Joe Eberhardt, President and CEO Jaguar Land Rover North America, said: “Jaguar Land Rover is dramatically increasing its presence in the US marketplace. Jaguar is the fastest-selling brand in America this year and Land Rover is building on sales records when we were the fastest growing luxury brand in the US in 2015.”
