President Elect Donald Trump Claims Apple CEO Tim Cook Called Him After The Election Results

Apple is holding talks with Foxconn to shift production of some Apple products into the United States

It is reported that both the Apple CEO Mr. Tim Cook and Microsoft CEO, Bill gates called Donald Trump after his win. According to the NewYork Times this news has been given by the President elect himself. The content of their conversation has not been released but it is speculated the conversation did mention some technological issues which both parties are concerned about.

We all know what Tim cook may be interested in talking about with Donald trump. Trump’s remarks regarding Apple’s policy of overseas manufacturing for the iPhone and other devices did create much hype over his campaign. The only thing which Apple does manufacture in the United States is the Mac Pro. We all know that the particular device is due a refresh.

We are expecting a new version of the Mac Pro to be released soon. Until then we can stay satisfied with the fact that at least it’s manufactured in the United States. Trump has suggested that he will bring all manufacturing onshore. However we are not even sure if that is even possible. Apple however seems to be trump’s prime target.

We can only assume that Tim Cook talked about his company’s future with the President elect. Foxconn and Pentagon manufacture Apple’s hardware abroad. Reports suggest that some talks are in progress to shift some production into the United States. We still have to see whether Donald trump sticks to his guns or not.

We do know that there is some tension present between the President elect and Apple. Especially after Apple‘s strong stance on the San Bernardino investigation. The President elect actually called a boycott of its products back then.
