NASA recently tested the behavior of fire in space. Its Saffire experiments ensured that were a fire hazard to break out in the context of outer space, the astronauts would be prepared.
The most recent of space fire experiments were the Saffire series which were enacted by NASA. They took place aboard the private Cygnus cargo spacecraft. Mission control was responsible for starting the fire in space.

This was a few moments after the Cygnus left the ISS after a 30 day sojourn on it. The Saffire program has as its goal the testing of how fire can spread in conditions of zero gravity.
The ultimate objective is allowing research that will design better and safer spacecraft. Saffire-I burned cotton fiberglass cloth. This was on board a different Cygnus spacecraft.
It was termed by NASA scientists as the largest fire ever set in space. With the current Saffire-II a number of different materials will get burnt.
Among the nine samples that will get ignited are such materials as a cotton fiberglass blend, Nomex and acrylic glass used in spacecraft windows. The samples of the materials are not very large at all.
As for Saffire-III, it will involve the igniting of a large fire just like Saffire-I. It will be ready when the time comes for it in the future. All three Saffire experiments will take place aboard Cygnus spacecrafts.
The Cygnus vehicles are to be built by Orbital ATK. The overall purpose of this is to create a safe and secure environment for astronauts in space. It is the #1 priority of NASA.
Flame growth and oxygen use were crucial parameters of the Saffire missions in space. The behavior of fire in conditions of microgravity are what the mission is all about.
