The 2017 next generation model also features a name change of Grand Sport

We have known for quite some time the 2017 Opel Insignia will be introduced very soon, more specifically at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. The time may be sooner than expected since Opel just released a little teaser of the upcoming car.

The teaser is a reflection of all the powerful attributes expected from the upcoming car. Another major development derived from the teaser is the slight name change of the Opel Insignia with the addition of Grand Sport. The car is now being referred to as the Insignia GS.

Many are expecting a more detailed teaser preview of the car by the German automaker in the coming weeks. The current teaser shows how the car has been equipped with the high-tech suspension system – the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

The Insignia GS also comes with the latest FlexRide adaptive chassis system. This system allows new speed-dependent steering. The new system in the GS will make sure the steering and suspension operations of the car are firmer than its predecessor.

Another side effect of the new system is the driver will be able to have a longer gear hold. The car may have the perfect equilibrium when it comes to power.

The Insignia GS is also lighter than the previous version of the Insignia. The body of the new GS is 386 pounds or more aptly 175 kilograms lighter than its predecessor. Similarly the 3.6 inches longer or more aptly 92 millimeters.

According to the Insignia chief engineer as soon as the driver enters the cabin of the new car they realize everything has been developed from a white sheet of paper. This time they have made sure the integration is outstanding for a much better feel of the car.
