Disney’s LucasFilm announced advance tickets bookings open on Monday as the experts predicts a huge opening for the movie

As the month of December approaches, the iconic Star Wars music echoes in the distance and we know that Star Wars Universe is around the horizon. As we all know Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is set to release on December 16th.

The standalone movie will document the events just before the Empire will take over by using the Death Star and the Resistance will put up a heist for the plans of the Death Star led by Erso Jynn which will later help Luke Skywalker to destroy the Death Star ultimately in Episode VI. So, this movie will take place before the Episode VI, V, VI and VII and after Episode I, II and III.

Now we know that December is the same time that Star Wars Episode VII opened to ground breaking figures north of $85 million. That is the same time slot that Disney’s LucasFilm has decided to release all of Star Wars future movies in. Keeping up with that time, Rogue One is also set to make a grand opening. Many are predicting a box office opening close to $130 million.

However, the studio is fully aware of the fact that the movie is a standalone movie. It is hugely unrelated to the many iconic characters that were involved in The Force Awakens namely Harrison Ford’s Han Solo and Carrie Fisher’s Princess Leia. It will also be a new set of characters that will probably be not heard or seen in any future parts (we can’t say for sure) so the studio expects it to not do as hugely on the box office as The Force Awakens.

The movie is serving as a filler between the Star Wars movies and its success will only strengthen the campaign but Disney has planned promoting and showcasing the movie with efficiency.

Keeping that in mind and that many potential movie goers will be busy with Holiday chores, Disney’s LucasFilm has announced that the advance ticket bookings will open on Monday.

Online ticketing website Fandango said it would launch sales at 12:01 a.m. EST on Monday while Atom Tickets revealed a promotion starting Monday for exclusive products available digitally through its mobile ticketing app and website.

"The Star Wars franchise has never been hotter, and we want to fan the flames by offering our guests an opportunity to see Rogue One: A Star Wars Story every day at Regal," said Ken Thewes, Chief Marketing Officer at Regal Entertainment Group.

"Second only to the Death Star plans, this will be the most sought after item in this galaxy."

Guests can purchase the limited edition laser etched black metal card for $100 on Monday, November 28, while supplies last. Each card will be personalized with the guest's name, will be laser cut with the movie title, and feature gold etching with a distinct black gloss Rebellion insignia. The Regal Ultimate Ticket will only be available for sale online at REGmovies.com.
