Spin Master Makes Hatchimals Announcement on Nov. 29
Hatchimals November 29 Announcement

Hatchimals maker says more Hatchimals are coming, update announced for Tuesday.

There is glimpse of hope for parents scrambling to score Hatchimals in time for Christmas. Spin Master, maker of the insanely hard to find Hatchimals, teased announcement for Tuesday Nov. 29.

Spin Master waits until the Cyber Monday craziness is over to inform consumers about the new Hatchimals stock. The announcement on Spin Master's site says: "More Hatchimals are Coming! Check Back Tuesday, November 29 for an update."

As reported yesterday, there has been some development over the past days. Retailers have increased the prices of Hatchimals above the suggested manufacturer retail price of $59.99. In addition to the new prices as high as $89.99, new stores are carrying Hatchimals. The list of stores includes now diapers.com and Jet.com.

The announcement of new Hatchimals could also be comprised of a price increase. We will have to wait until Tuesday to find out. The Spin Master announcement will be published on this page.

Update Nov. 30 ET: Spin Master's Hatchimals announcement has been delayed. Spin Master's support confirmed the delay in a Tweet to on of our readers named Eileen. This is what she got from Spin Master: "We were to have more info on the site today but that has been delayed. We hope to have more info on preorders shortly."

The Spin Master online store was unreachable for most of the time yesterday. The store did not even have Hatchimals available, but still broke down by the traffic of customers searching for them. Spin Master's Tweet confirms though that there will be new pre-orders for Hatchimals on the Spin Master site. The question is when the pre-order goes live and the shipping times the new batch of Hatchimals. Any shipping date that misses the Holidays will be not what most customers want.

Meanwhile, the online availablity of Hatchimals has dried out. There has not been Hatchimals on sale the past two days.

Update 9am ET: Spin Master's shop is back up. The banner message changed from the above message to "More Hatchimals are Coming! Check Back Soon." It is not clear what "soon" means.

Update 8:45am ET: Spin Master's shop is down ahead of the announcement. It is not clear if traffic of Hatchimals fans waiting for the announcement due today caused the outage or if Spin Master is updating the site.

Spin Master published the first announcement about the Hatchimals shortage early November. Back then the outlook the company gave was rather gloom: "The consumer response to Hatchimals has been extraordinary, exceeding all expectations. Some of our first shipments have already sold out. While additional product will hit retail shelves in November, we anticipate this inventory will also sell out quickly. We have increased production and a whole new batch of Hatchimals will be ready to hatch in early 2017. This is a special season and we don’t want anyone to be disappointed, nor do we support inflated prices from non-authorized resellers. We are working on creative solutions to help kids and their parents withstand the wait. In the interim, some retailers are developing pre-sale and/or rain-check programs for redemption in January. We will continue to update with program details as they become available."

It is possible that Spin Master was able to sign more factories to manufacture the Holiday toy gift all kids want this year for Christmas. The announcement will be good news for parents. The question is how good. New supply also means that the prices of Hatchimals on the reseller Marketplace are going to drop. By how much depends on how many Hatchimals Spin Master can supply.

Hatchimals, Youtube Stars and Hottest Holiday Toy

Spin Master basically took a Furby (for those who can remember what that is) and stuck it inside an egg. Hatchimals are "magical creatures" that already interact with your kids inside the egg. Each egg contains one of two interactive Hatchimals. Kids need to take care of the Hatchimal while its still inside until the rainbow eyes appear. That means its time to hatch. Hatchimals can't hatch on their own. Videos of Hatchimals hatching have gone viral on Youtube. Kids want Hatchimals because the saw commercials and the Hatchimals videos of the Youtube toy review kids.

Touch is guiding them to peck their way out of the egg. Once outside the egg owners raise the furry Hatchimal through 3 stages, from baby to toddler, to kid. The Hatchimal sings "Hatchy Birthday" each time it enters a new stage. Hatchimals can learn to walk, dance, play games and more. Hatchimals also repeat what you say in its own voice.

There several different kinds of Hatchimals that differ in color and kind of the creatures inside. There are also exclusive editions for stores like Walmart. Available Hatchimals include Hatchimals Draggles Blue/Purple Egg, Hatchimals Draggles Blue/Green Egg, Hatchimals Pengualas Pink Egg, Hatchimals Pengualas Pink/Teal Egg, and Hatchimals Burtle Purple/Teal Egg.
