The new passenger focused interior by Volvo are the ones that will work perfectly with driver less cars too.

Volvo has laid out the design of passenger focused cabins. According to the company, these are well suited for the cars which will be driven without drivers in the future.

Many companies are aiming to build the cabins of these cars in a way that they resemble like that of their living room. The purpose of such cabins is to provide immense comfort and luxury while the journey is being made on its own.

According to Thomas Ingenlathm who is Volvo’s senior VP, the company had been aiming for passenger’s comfort in cabin for a long time. According to him other companies concentrated on the comfort of the driver only.

Thomas told AutoCar that Volvo used the concept in S90 Excellence which is a three seater model and will be released in China. The cabin of this car had a special console which is placed in the center. They took out the seat in order to see what they could do with the space provided.

The company had been conducting many researches and studies from a long time now in order to predict the comfort level required in a cabin of car.

According to Robin Page, the Vice President of interior design at Volvo, the company is working in a close bond with three design studios which are located in Sweden, America and Chine to work on the new models.

He said that they have multiple studios in different studies. According to the data, LA’s market is more suited for EVs, while Chinese market is suited for rear passenger luxury. On the other hand in Europe, the driver’s comfort is set on the upper most level.
