A two seater electric version of Alfieri is on its way!

Maserati recently announced that they are building an electric vehicle. Now they have made another announcement that they are actually building an electric two seater version of its car.

The news was confided to JustAuto in which Maserati confirmed that a two seater electric version of Alfieri is on its way. The car is currently being developed and will be officially announced in the year 2020.

The two seater concept car was unveiled for the very first time in Geneva Motor Show in year 2014. The original Alfieri which is also in production this year is a larger car which will compete with 911. It will have aV6 engine and will be similar to size of Jaguar F type.

According to the company, the conventional version of Alfieri will go on sale in year 2019. It was announced earlier on that it will be launched in year 2016 however the new announced date is well past its original intended date of arrival.

The company had to go through a lot of developmental prepositions to make the perfect car. Along with that the concept of Alfieri had been introduced with a V8 engine.

However due to emission constraints and fuel efficiency issue, the company has decided to use a smaller engine. The smaller engine used will be powerful as well but not like the initially intended V8.

We are hoping to see a good quality V6 engine. The performance or price of the EV model is not shared yet by company. However we are looking forward to a brilliant looking and performing EV by Maserati.

According to Maserati, the trends are changing and the 2020 will bring more and more of EV in the field for sure.
