iPhone Users Report Battery Drain Issues With The iOS 10.1.1

Since the latest iOS 10.1.1 update, users are complaining of battery drain and shut down issues. The 10.1.1 release was intended by Apple to fix the Health data handling issues, but instead it has introduced some other problems. Generally, it is a great idea to update your iPhone device as soon as Apple releases the update, but the number of users reporting the battery and shut down problem may suggest you to hold the update for a while.

The complaint thread on Apple’s support forum now crosses more than thirteen pages. Each message suggests the very same problem of random battery life behaviour which causes the device to shut down. We have seen issues earlier in which the battery drains quickly causing the mobile to shut down. However in the iOS 10.1.1 it seems that when a certain battery percentage is reached the iPhone just shuts down.

This is very frustrating when you see you device displaying battery of 25%, 35% or even 40% and suddenly shuts down. The original creator of the forum complained that his device shut down when it reached the 30% mark. Many other device owners joined in and shared their similar problems too. What is even weirder is that when the device is plugged in and turned on again it immediately displays plenty of battery life.

Some devices even show 25% instantly. Device owners are also venting out on social media websites such as Twitter and Facebook. Apple is yet to respond to this issue. It has recently launched a recall program for some iPhone 6S users who were facing some battery drain issues. The recall has been narrowed down to some specific serial numbers. Apple might be facing more replacements of the iOS 10.1.1 battery drainage problem isn’t solved soon. In the meantime those of you are facing this problem may downgrade back to iOS 10.1.
