Many enigmatic jelly-like marine creatures have appeared washed up on Huntington Beach. These mysterious creatures have given rise to intense speculation in the media.

A bunch of mysterious jelly-like creatures were washed up on Huntington Beach. They have led to a great deal of talk and discussion on social media especially Facebook.

One Facebook user, Ryan Rustan, said that he had been walking on the shoreline and then he suddenly came upon little water balloon-like creatures that popped under his feet. They felt squishy. When he looked down, he wasn’t sure what they were.

He couldn’t tell whether they were jellyfish or eggs. They seemed to be a combination of both. There were thousands of such creatures stranded on the beach. Pics of the jelly-like creatures were posted on Facebook too.

They also seemed to be burrowing in the sand. Hundreds and thousands of these jelly bean-like critters were on the beach and it had come as a big surprise. Many people had walked the beach since decades but none of them had witnessed such a phenomenon. It was a totally novel occurrence.

The critters felt like Jello. Kids may have loved to have dropped them down their friends’ shirts just to make them squirm. A range of opinions proliferated on the Internet regarding what these mysterious creatures were in the first place.

According to LATimes, some said that they were baby jellyfish while others said that they were burrowing sea cucumbers. Some labeled them as salps which are invertebrate marine animals.

There were rumors that they were creepy sea creatures and even alien beings. A professional said that they were probably sea cucumbers. They may have been one of the living marine samples dredged up from the oceanic depths by El Nino.

Whatever the case, they were weird indeed. This by the way is not the only such occurrence in the area. A number of stingrays have also been found abandoned on the beach. It is all very strange.
