It looks like Toyota has gotten really serious about EVs.

Toyota recently announced that they are going to dedicate a Virtual Organization for electric vehicles. This announcement really is a push towards EVs.

We have heard a lot of announcements from Toyota that were based on the plug-in platform. After that Toyota followed its momentum in building the hydrogen fuel vehicles.

However the hydrogen fuel vehicles introduced by Toyota have failed to gain immense popularity up till now. This would have happened due to the probability of low knowledge of consumers about the hydrogen fuel cell vehicles and the power associated with it.

Toyota has gained immense popularity in the division of hybrids for sure. Its Toyota Prius has gained a lot of momentum and popularity since its debut many years ago.

Thus it is time for the company to step into the world of EVs as many other companies are investing in this domain too. The new leader who will be leading the EV project of Toyota from front is Akio Toyoda, the grandson of the pioneer of Toyota, according to AutomotiveNews.

Akio is the CEO of Toyota Motor Corporations since the year 2009. Thus if the CEO is going to lead this EV sun unit then this means that Toyota has certainly gotten serious about the making of electric vehicles.

Koji Toyoshima, who is the brain behind the engineering side of Toyota Prius Prime is going to be working in the EV development as well. This will be a big step for EV development too.

Toyota has recently announced that they will be introducing hydrogen space in its semi-trucks which shows their dedication to the new modules of energy in upcoming vehicles. Toyota might have to work hard and fast though in order to catch up with other EV building companies.
