Tesla has gotten around the government to get dealership license

Tesla Motors Inc. has gotten a new victory in the run for getting approval of franchises. The company was facing troubles in order to get licenses in order to start new franchises in various cities. The dealership laws have been revised lately which made it difficult for many companies to get their dealerships in motion.

In a decision which was allotted by Richard Holcomb, commissioner of Virginia’s Department of Motor Vehicles, the ruling was reversed in favor of Tesla, according to Automotive News. Tesla was previously denied to operate dealership in Richmond however now the company is allowed to form a franchise over there.

Tesla had filed an exception to the original decision which was made earlier on. The decision of applying against the ruling was made due to the fact that Tesla believed that its notion of not applying the direct-to-consumer trade did not apply on Virginia laws. As Tesla did not work with other franchise dealerships so the company could not work with any of them hence needing one of its own kind.

Tesla had already faced a lot of problems in getting new stores opened for them in different states. In the year 2012 the electric vehicles maker company Tesla Motors Inc. applied for a dealership license in Virginia which was denied in the first attempt by Holcomb.

Tesla appealed and entered in a problematic argument with VADA. According VADA, Tesla’s direct sale model is a threat to other dealerships. Now the verdict had come in the favor of Tesla, giving it the opportunity to get the right kind of dealerships in Virginia.

Tesla has won its case in Virginia but it has been facing blockage for doing the same business from many other states. States of Texas, Iowa and Michigan has banned the startup of Tesla stores.
