  • Trailer for the New Baywatch Movie Released

The official trailer for the new Baywatch movie released with the Rock facing some problems in his lifeguarding duties

Baywatch was a critical part of the TV experience of the 90s generation. A new concept featured around the lives of Los Angeles County Lifeguards who patrol the beaches of Los Angeles County; the show’s cast became known for their iconic roles in the show namely David Hasselhoff, Pamela Anderson, Carmen Electra and many more.

The show ended in 2001. Little did anyone know that Dwayne Johnson would revive the premise for a movie. Generally expressed as a sexy comedy, the movie’s cast includes Dwayne Johnson in the iconic role of Mitch Buchanan which was played by Hasselhoff in the show. Also starring are Zac Efron, Priyanka Chopra and Alexandra Daddario among other names. David Hasselhoff and Carmen Electra are also confirmed to make cameos in the movie.

The actors have been taking to their social media to do what little promotion they can. However, the Baywatch promotion sprung to action recently as they first released two teasers featuring Dwayne Johnson in a clip where he is carrying a body of a woman out of the water and a slightly extensive teaser to introduce Efron’s character, Matt Brody. The teasers announced that the trailer would be releasing soon.

The trailer was released recently. In the trailer, Buchanan tells the fans that their team is the elite of the elite. He goes to the life guard post and covers the ‘No Lifeguard on Duty’ sign. Cue the slow motion of one-piece bikini clad female life guard running with him in the middle with buoys. In a scene, Mitch jumps off a water ski with a life jacket to rescue a woman stranded on an exploding boat.

She offers himself to him at the spot but he tells her later and throws her in the water. He is informed that the City Council is cutting the funding for the Los Angeles County Lifeguards. He is told that they are now responsible to restore the Baywatch brand. Cue a leather jacket clad Zac Efron riding down the tier on a motorcycle.

He introduces himself as Matt Brody reporting for duty and looks directly at Quinn Summers’ bosom. Played by Alexandra Daddario, Summers asks him if she looked at her boobs. She tells him to look at her face but he says that they were so close to her face. Mitch asks the manager if he thinks that Matt is the guy that could bring good PR for them.

In somewhat a frat boy party scene, Matt encourages all party attendees to drink and then falls in the pool. Dave points out that he is reckless and we see Matt jumping off the brig into the water to save someone. The manager points out that he has two gold medals. He asks Mitch how many medals he has?

We then get a look at the plot which is that they have a dead body on their beach. We see men throwing a body overboard in the water. Matt says that it’s not their job. Mitch canvases the area and feels that they should check it out. Mitch and Matt have a discussion, quite funnily, about what they should do.

Mitch gives an open arm welcome to Baywatch and in a following montage we see beach side action with buoys and jet skis. In a scene, Matt and Dave are riding around on a pink scooter, some slow-mo criticism, hospital scene, dance floor battle, Summers hitting a cyclist with a buoy, Mitch wearing a chef hat and Matt cross dressed, Priyanka Chopra in red lipstick and green dressed sipping champagne and looking hot, helicopter flying by some fireworks and Mitch jumping off an exploding building while carrying someone.

A police officer tells Mitch, Matt and Quinn that they turned the canals into X-Games. Matt says that they were in lifeguard pursuit. The officer tells them that there is no such thing. The following scene follows a racial punch light heartedly.

From the looks of the trailer. Dwayne Johnson is going to most of the heavy lifting and the serious part of the movie, Diddario will be the female lead by the looks of it and Zac Efron will handle all the comedic punches that he had grown quite famous for.

The movie is set to release on May, 2017.
