  • MSDC-0160 not only treats Diabetes but may slow Progress of Parkinson’s Disease

MSDC-0160 is said to not only treat diabetes but it may slow down the progress of Parkinson’s Disease. Trials will begin in humans soon.

A novel drug has been found not only to reverse the symptoms of type 2 diabetes but to put a roadblock or two in the path of Parkinson’s Disease. The study was published in the journal Science Translational Medicine.

It is hoped that this will be a turning point in the treatment of Parkinson’s. This drug has the power to stop or even reverse the progression of Parkinson’s.

Up until now most of the research had focused on managing the symptoms of Parkinson’s instead of searching for a proper cure.

Yet, MSDC-0160, if it is successful in humans, may spell the difference between a failing quality of life for Parkinson’s patients and their rehabilitation and integration into a society of healthy individuals.

Also the usage of medicines for the malady that have nasty side effects could then be avoided. Parkinson’s Disease makes life a living hell for 7 to 10 million people on a global level each year. About a million of these unfortunate people happen to be Americans.

Also as the gerontocracy of America spreads and more and more people live to a ripe old age, this disease and others like it are expected to increase in their occurrence.

At present, there is no cure for the ailment. Since the 1960s when levodopa was begun as a treatment choice, there has been no progress in this arena. MSDC-0160 presents the most promising chances of curing this devastating disease.

By now, over 120 treatment methods for Parkinson’s have been identified. Most of them are still in their infancy though.

MSDC-0160 remains at the top of the list. The researchers are busy trying to apply this drug in humans sometime in the future. The drug is excellent in the results it delivers, is safe and secure to use and is also locally available just about anywhere.

There is talk concerning how Parkinson’s origins lie in the body’s energy metabolism. This novel drug manages the mitochondria in the brain so that normality and fine functioning is restored.

Inflammation is slashed and the cellular death is also lowered as a result. The launch of clinical trials in human beings will be taking place soon. All the researchers are keeping their fingers crossed regarding how the trials go in the final analysis.
