Hatchimals at Target on Sunday: Everything You Need To Know

Target restocks Hatchimals on Sunday, Dec. 11. Here is everything you need to know.

It is 3pm ET and it is time for east coast Hatchimals hunters to ponder to go to their local Target store to line up for the Sunday sale of Hatchimals.

It's close to noon on the West coast and the Hatchimals are gone from all Target stores. Target had less Hatchimals on hand than ToysRUs last week. The final update about the Target Hatchimals sale is a success story we received from I4U News reader Stephannie.

She arrived to a Target in San Diego just before 4am this morning and was the 4th in line. Two people ahead of her arrived at 3:30am so the first person got there sometime before that. Between 4:30am and 5:45am, about 10 more people showed up. Just before 6am, an employee came out with tickets and said the store only had 18 and there was a limit of 2 per person. He started at the beginning of the line and the shoppers in line could choose which colors we wanted. Tickets were good for an hour after the store opened at 8am and the Hatchimals would be at guest services (after an hour, the Hatchimal would be released if the person with the ticket didn't pick it up). She left after getting my tickets, but returned shortly before 8am.

"A rush of people arrived around the same time but left when they realized tickets were given out two hours prior. Umm, hello!! Have you not read or heard anything about this toy? Don't show up when the store opens and expect to get one."

She paid $48 each of the Hatchimals she got at Target using a Target coupon for $25 off toy purchase of $100 or more and then another 5% off with her Target debit card (another 5 cents off for bringing my own bag, too). She paid less than Walmart.

"I also waited last week for a Nintendo and got one. Moral of the story, if you're not willing to research which stores have what for inventory and arrive really early, don't expect to show up right when the store opens and snag what you're looking for. Dress warmly and have fun chatting with others in line. The time goes by fast," she concluded her success story.

I4U News thanks everyone who emailed us standing in line at Target today. Congrats to everyone who got their Hatchimals

We are receiving the first reports from the lines at Target stores. The line at Antioch, California, Target store started at 7:00pm with 6 people as of 9:38pm PST.

Lines started 1am local time Sunday at the San Mateo, California Target store. Jason emailed us that he was 4th in line at 2:15am PST. Based on the first reports we received from customers at Target stores, the lines start later and are shorter than at ToysRUs last Sunday.

The problem though is that many stores have very low number of Hatchimals. So even if the line is short, customers might still not get a Hatchimals. Shaina told us for instance that the Target in Pittsburg, California only received 8 Hatchimals and they have limited the toy to 1 per household. There was also no NES at this location either.

Shoppers can still go and line up at a local Target now at 7:30am ET and they should still have a chance to get a Hatchimal. Some Target stores only have a handful of Hatchimals. There is a chance that even if the line is short that customers do not get Hatchimals today.

When you are in line, please email us (i4u@i4u.com) with some infos on how long the lines are and when the first people got in line. Update us on how many Hatchimals and also NES Classic the Target store has in stock. Are tickets handed out. Photos of the line and the Hatchimals shelf are great too. Above all email us your success story. Good Luck!

Now it is Target's turn to sell Hatchimals in a big way. Target announced a couple days ago to have Hatchimals in stock on Sunday December 11. Each Target store across the country will be receiving dozens of Hatchimals ($59.99), with more inventory coming throughout the week. There is a limit of two Hatchimals per customer.

The Target weekly ad for Sunday Dec. 11 is featuring the Hatchimals, but to go to a local Target store on Sunday will be too late. Given what happened last Sunday at ToysRUs, customers need to be prepared to start lining up Saturday afternoon and spend the night at a Target store. Customers need to pay attention to the ticket practice at their local Target store. Some stores are reportedly handing out tickets very early, allowing customers to go home and come back at 8am when the doors open.

Target's exclusive Hatchimals is the Bearakeet. This is the one to go for first. Bearakeets are almost as hard to find as the ToysRUs exclusive Owlicorns. The bear ears also make the Bearakeet one of the cuttest Hatchimals.

The Target stores are holding Hatchimals for the Sunday sale. BrickSeek shows shows inventory levels of over 90% on Pengualas and 40% of Beerakeets.

Brick Seek shows in our random ZIP code searches stores with dozens of Hatchimals in stock now at Target Stores. You can search your local Target stores' inventory with the links below. Note that the numbers are estimates and that Target is holding Hatchimals unit Sunday morning.

While these GiftCards don’t reserve a Hatchimal, lucky recipients can return to Target to pick one out as soon as more arrive through the New Year and into January. The Hatchimals gift card is also available online at Target.com.

Target has marked all Hatchimals in the Target.com store as only available in stores. There will be very likely no online sale of Hatchimals from Target on Sunday.

Hatchimals are available on eBay on the Amazon Marketplace for $200 and more. Find out how to find Hatchimals in time for the Holidays in the Hatchimals shopping guide for December. About 1,700 Walmart stores are also offering Hatchimals. Best Buy has started to list Hatchimals, but we don't have reports yet if stores actually have inventory.

We will cover the sales start of the Hatchimals throughout Sunday and provide updates that gives shoppers a guidance about the situation.

How Early starts the Line at Target for Hatchimals

As mentioned above, the line at ToysRUs last Sunday started as early as Saturday afteroon. People spent the night at the store to be one of the first in line to be able to get a NES and Hatchimals. Lines have been as long as 300 once the doors opened. The Target Hatchimals sale will not be different. The line start and length varies greatly by location. Urban Target stores will have lines start very early and have long line. Less popular locations will have later start times and shorter lines.

Some Target Stores have handed out tickets for Hatchimals as early as the night before to customers who asked. This enabled those shoppers to go home and sleep in their beds and come back when the doors open and swoop in and grab the Hatchimals. It is advised to call or visit your Target store to find out the details.

How Many Hatchimals are in Stock at Target

Target said in the announcement that stores will have dozens of Hatchimals. The retailer did not specify if all of them will be available right away on Sunday. BrickSeek shows varying inventory levels, but some stores we spotted hat 25 or more just of Pengualas.

About Hatchimals

Spin Master basically took a Furby (for those who can remember what that is) and stuck it inside an egg. Hatchimals are "magical creatures" that already interact with your kids inside the egg. Each egg contains one of two interactive Hatchimals. Kids need to take care of the Hatchimal while its still inside until the rainbow eyes appear. That means its time to hatch. Hatchimals can't hatch on their own. Videos of Hatchimals hatching have gone viral on Youtube. Kids want Hatchimals because the saw commercials and the Hatchimals videos of the Youtube toy review kids.

Touch is guiding them to peck their way out of the egg. Once outside the egg owners raise the furry Hatchimal through 3 stages, from baby to toddler, to kid. The Hatchimal sings "Hatchy Birthday" each time it enters a new stage. Hatchimals can learn to walk, dance, play games and more. Hatchimals also repeat what you say in its own voice.

There several different kinds of Hatchimals that differ in color and kind of the creatures inside. There are also exclusive editions for stores like Walmart. Available Hatchimals include Hatchimals Draggles Blue/Purple Egg, Hatchimals Draggles Blue/Green Egg, Hatchimals Pengualas Pink Egg, Hatchimals Pengualas Pink/Teal Egg, and Hatchimals Burtle Purple/Teal Egg.
