CES 2017: ONVI to Showcase First Smart Video Toothbrush
  • First ever smart video toothbrush coming at CES 2017

The toothbrush called Prophix is the dental tech company ONVI’s premier product.

ONVI is known to be a pioneer in innovative dental technology. At the upcoming CES 2017 the company will showcase the world’s first ever smart video toothbrush.

The toothbrush called Prophix is ONVI’s premier product. The company will offer a live demonstration of Prophix at their booth at CES 2017 in Las Vegas. Prophix is basically a never-before-seen dental solution for people aspiring for good oral health.

The smart toothbrush can also be paired wirelessly to an iOS app. Similarly Prophix also works with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. The aim of the video toothbrush is to show people their current oral health. The live video feed is transferred to their smartphone app while they brush their teeth.

Users can also take pictures from the toothbrush saving them to their smartphones. Taking pictures can help the users to not only see their current state but also track their recovery process over time. The toothbrush’s accompanying app also provides motivating tips to improve overall oral health.

The company ONVI was created by Dr. Craig S. Kohler, a dentist who for the last 20 years has been using live video feeds to record dental procedures through microscopes.

Prophix was developed by Kohler as a way to provide the best dental care for patients using the latest technology. According to Kohler when he used to use intraoral cameras on his patients it greatly improved their outcomes and understanding of oral health.

Kohler further stated in 2016 it was possible to bring the state-of-the-art tech into homes within a small toothbrush. The toothbrush Prophix will be available in the marketplace by 2017 but can be now be pre-ordered at a discounted price of $299 from $399.
