ThinkGeek will start to sell the $59.99 NES Classic online today through invitations only. Updated.

ThinkGeek has started to offer the Nintendo NES Classic Edition on on Dec. 7. Shoppers who want a chance to buy the NES Classic at ThinkGeek need to add the mini NES to their wish list.

The reservation of the NES Classic ends Monday, Dec. 12, 10am EST. While at the ThinkGeek store, check out the Top 10 Holiday Gifts for Geeks.


Dec 14: There is one more chance to receive an email code from ThinkGeek on Wednesday to purchase a NES Classic. Invites to batch 3 of the NES Classic available at will be mailed out on Wednesday 10am ET.

Dec 13: ThinkGeek will send out emails again today at 10am ET to give other customers a chance to buy the unclaimed NES consoles from the first round of the raffle. Customers who signed up for the NES wishlist don't have to do anything. if they are lucky they receive an email this time. While you wait for the emails at 10am ET, check out the Top 10 Holiday Gifts for Geeks on ThinkGeek.

12:10 pm ET: has sent out the emails with the NES Classic codes at noon Eastern. Customers who have signed-up can now check their email accounts if they got lucky.

Today Timmy, ThinkGeek's Spokesmonkey, will begin to randomly select batches of customers who have the NES on their Wish List and email them a unique code and link to buy it. This code will be good for 24 hours. If the selected customers don't use the code within 24 hours, the chance goes back in the mix to let other eager NES shoppers have a shot.

ThinkGeek has not announced how many NES consoles they have in stock. The inventory is limited, but it is well worth to give this a shot and register at

The NES Classic continues to be extremely hard to find. The console has not been on sale on line in 10 days, except at the Urban Outfitters flash sale last week.

Customers who miss the Wishlist reservation will not have a chance to purchase the NES Classic on ThinkGeek once the sale begins.

To add the NES to the wishlist, shoppers need to sign up for an account on the ThinkGeek store. The ThinkGeek team has found a clever way to generate thousands of new leads for their store full of geek gifts. By sending out emails to random customers, ThinkGeek also avoids crazy traffic load on their online store selling the NES.
