Google Acquires Smartwatch OS start-up Cronologics

Google has got hold of the team behind Cronologics. This was a start-up developed to become a great smartwatch platform in the market. The terms of the deal have not been made public but the Cronologics team will be working in the Android Wear division.

In an announcement the Cronologics team stated that it is looking forward to work with Google. This acquisition of Cronologics by Google is actually a homecoming for the team as its members have previously worked in Google in the business development sector.

Over the past two years they have developed a way to build compelling wearable hardware and established great software based experiences through a common architecture. Some of the technology developed by Cronologics has already been integrated in to the smartwatch Cowatch.

This watch has an Alexa equipped operating system which allows you to control the watch via your voice. Google may want to integrate such technology in its Android Wear so that it becomes more voice based and be able to facilitate more third-party activated voice apps.

It might even gain the ability to pair up with connected devices such as Google Home.
