Google Names its Self-Driving Car Company Waymo
  • Google announces the name of its Self-Driving car company

The google autonomous car will be launched by the company named Waymo

Google has been working on its self-driving project from the past many months. We have seen its prototype of self-driving vehicle a number of times going here and there on self-driving mode. It was recently confirmed by Google that the autonomous car will be handled by company named Waymo.

This news was confirmed to AutoBlog by John Krafcik who is the boss and head at Waymo. The company will focus on the advanced technology that will be launched and prepared by Google in terms of autonomous technology.

It was rumored earlier on that the Google will leave the project and won’t continue it however the recent news say otherwise. The announcement of Waymo certainly says that the self-driving technology will now be properly developed to its final extent in the proper way.

The announcement also states that Google’s parent company Alphabet is keen in developing the self-driving technology of Google and will take it to completion.

All the big car makers are working on the autonomous or self-assisting technology which is the reason that the stakes are pretty high on the autonomous market.

The earlier reports had suggested that Google will produce its own autonomous cars but after the announcement of Waymo, it looks like the stakes are growing towards a different side. It looks like as if the company will be more focused on developing the autonomous technology instead of making an autonomous car.

Waymo’s head mentioned during the press conference that the company will be focusing on ride sharing and ride hailing business like that of Uber too. Waymo is all set to carry out a number of tests on its prototypes to finalize the technology. It is just a matter of time that it will be made public.
