Australian cover model Ellie Gonsalves spices up the Yellow Tail Super Bowl 2017 commercial. The first wine Super Bowl ad in decades comes from Australian wine brand Yellow Tail.

The highlight of the Yellow Tail Super Bowl ad is Ellie Gonsalves. The voluptuous model appears in a bikini on the beach and pets the badly done kangaroo. Yellow Tail circumvents Anheuser-Busch InBev by buying up local Super Bowl ad slots in massive amounts. The wine brand will have a reach of about 85% of all Super Bowl viewers. Yellow Tail is a brand of wine produced by the Casella Family Brands. Casella wines is based in Yenda, Australia. Yenda is small town with about 1,400 people, The Casella family has a long history of wine make and produced wines since the 1820s in Italy. When founders Filippo and Maria Casella immigrated to Australia in 1957, they started with a dream to build a winery.

Filippo Casella recognized the great potential of the Riverina region in New South Wales. In 1965, he bought land near the township of Yenda outside of Griffith in New South Wales and grew grapes for local winemakers. In 1969 the Casella family winery was born.

The key to differentiation for Casella was to make a fun and non-traditional wine that’s easy to drink for everyone. In 2001 they created Yellow Tail and selected the iconic yellow-footed rock-wallaby for the label.

The Casella Family Brands exports over 12 and a half million cases of [yellow tail] to more than 50 countries around the world every year and more than two and a half million glasses of yellow tail are enjoyed around the world each day.

Super Bowl LI marks Pepsi's fifth year as title sponsor of the Super Bowl Halftime Show and 15th year as an NFL partner.
