Google Beats Apple as Most Valuable Brand in the United States

It seems that Google has left Apple far behind in the popularity stakes. It has snatched victory from the jaws of defeat by being the best brand in the United States.

According to a novel ranking system, Google has achieved the rare feat of being the best brand in all of America. This grand-daddy of search engines beat several other brands to become the top cat.

Such brands which were left biting the dust include Apple and Amazon. Google delivered far more bang for the buck than these other brands. This was tabulated by a firm named Brand Finance.

Google happens to be worth its weight in gold. It has assets amounting to $109 billion which is indeed a whopping sum of cold hard cash. This company has become an ever-present reality in today’s computerized society.

The very word “Google” is linked with search engine basics. It has become a virtual household word and is on everyone’s lips from the four year old child to the eighty year old grandparent. Google’s advertising branch rakes in some very lucrative profits each year.

Apple which had held the top position since the past half a decade or so, took a dive and is now worth $107 billion. So it is two billion dollars behind Google in the race for the information technology bonanza that we find ourselves in today.

Last year, Apple was worth $146 billion. However, it has let its reputation slip and so is now behind Google on the road to progress. Apple’s recent blunders concerning the exploitation of its clientele led to the dismal result.

Rather than live up to the reputation of its genius founder, the late and great Steve Jobs, Apple has only managed to fine-tune its erstwhile products a little in recent times. This left a bitter aftertaste among its main customers who thus decided to pursue fresher pastures.

Amazon meanwhile has the third position after Google and Apple. Its net value stands at $106 billion, according to Fortune.com. It has made a quantum leap of 53% over its profitability last year.

Next year, Amazon may well overtake Apple to become the #2 brand in America. The top 500 brands in the US are worth a total amount in cash that clocks in at $3 trillion. This represents an overall increase since last year by 11%.

Some of the other conglomerates that count in the economic pie besides Google, Apple and Amazon are: AT&T, Microsoft, Verizon, Walmart, Facebook, Wells Fargo and, last but not least, that symbol of fast food with its Golden Arches, McDonald’s.
