In the next five years, multiple car brands are releasing their electric car for the electric car revolution

Earlier this year a report by research firm Bloomberg New Energy Finance stated 2022 is the year of the electric car revolution. Currently the biggest problem in the sale of Electric Vehicles (EVs) is that they are expensive compared to conventional cars. The expense in large is due to their battery packs.

However according to the Bloomberg report in six years the cost of battery packs will fall substantially leading to lower rates of electric cars. Basically when the cost of cars which run on electricity will be lower they will replace cars run on fossil fuels. The report also predicted by 2040 the sales of EVs will reach 41 million which is 25% of the vehicular market share.

Tesla Model 3
Currently Tesla is center stage when talking about EVs. In 2016, Tesla unveiled its Model 3 which will enter production by the end of this year and will be released by 2018. The Model 3 is Tesla’s first mass market, long-range vehicle with a starting range of more than 200 miles per charge. Additionally the Model 3 can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just six seconds. The Model 3 will come bearing a price tag of $35,000. Tesla CEO Elon Musk has also promised to unveil a Roadster by 2019, although no further details have been revealed.

Chevy Bolt EV
The Chevy Bolt EV is the first all-electric car by Chevrolet. According to General Motors the Bolt EV will be a first affordable long-range car and will cost about $30,000. The Chevy Bolt will have arange of 238 miles per charge. The car is currently in production and will soon be released in 2018.

Lucid Air
Lucid just revealed its first ever luxury electric sedan called the Lucid Air. The sedan worth $100,000-plus is expected to go into production by 2018 at Lucid’s Arizona factory. The Air has been equipped with a 100 kWh battery pack the same kind found in Tesla Model S, and has a range of 400 miles per charge.

Audi e-tron Quattro
Audi has announced it will release its all-electric SUV based on the tronquattro concept by 2018. The production of the car will begin at Audi’s Brussels plant in 2018. The SUV will have three motors, along with a range of 310 miles on just a single charge. The battery pack will also have quick charging capabilities. Audi is also working on a luxury electric sedan to rival Tesla’s Model S.

Porsche Mission E Concept
Porsche is planning on beginning production of its Mission E Concept by 2020. Last year Porsche revealed they will be investing $1.09 billion to start production of their first all-electric car. The Mission E concept comes with a range of 310 miles per charge. Moreover the battery pack can be charged to about 80 percent in just a mere 15 minutes.

Aston Martin RapidE Concept
The British luxury automaker has planned on developing its production version of the RapidE concept by 2018.The RapidE concept is based on Aston Martin’s Rapide S sedan.The concept will come with a range of 200 miles per charge. The price tag is expected to be $200,000 or $250,000.

Faraday Future FFZero1
Faraday Future has announced their first ever all-electric car based on the concept FFZero1 will be on the road within the next four years, approximately 2021. The lead designer of the company also stated their first car will be a premium type of car and have the same type of pricing as Tesla.

Volkswagen I.D. Concept Car
The Volkswagen Group had previously announced they will release at least 20 EVs by 2020 and 30 electric plugin-in models by 2025. One of the EVs has been confirmed as a production version of the Volkswagen I.D. concept car. The Volkswagen I.D. concept is an electric SUV with a range of more than 240 miles.

Hyundai Ioniq EV
The all-electric Ioniq EV by Hyundai is expected to be released in some selected markets around the world by the end of this year. The EV will have a range of 110 miles per charge and is expected to be released in the US by winter 2017.

Mercedes-Benz Generation EQ Concept EV
Mercedes-Benz is also expected to release their first ever electric SUV by 2019.The Mercedes Generation EQ concept car is an electric SUV is expected to enter production soon and has a range of more than 300 miles on a single charge.

Subaru EV
Subaru is planning to release their fully electric car later in 2020. The upcoming Subaru EV will be based on the company’s Forester model or the next Outback. The EV will be based on Subaru’s Global Platform.

BMW i3
BMW has slated to produce its electric i3 line-up which is its first long range all-electric car line-up. The line-up will come with a range of 113 miles on a full charge and will be released by 2020. The first car will be most likely a SUV and will be called the i5. Although BMW has remained silent on its other features the car may be fully autonomous and have a range of about 300 miles on a single charge.

Renault Zoe
Renault just released an updated version of its all-electric car called the Zoe. The Renault Zoe now comes with a range of almost 200 miles just on a single charge. The updated version of the car will only be released in the UK and has a price tag of about $24,500.
