Apple is planning to sell the content from HBO, Showtime and Starz in a bundle to viewers instead of channel wise distribution

In recent years, Apple has made it one of the company’s goals to fulfill all the technological needs of its customers. It has led the market to become the hardware and software provider to the consumer market with top notch gadgets, advanced programming and a customer friendly approach. Many would say that Apple has become a lifestyle where customers are always looking forward to the next big thing.

Apple seems to have just the thing in mind. According to latest reports, Apple is angling to sell content from for major entertainment networks; HBO, Showtime and Starz on Apple’s iOS devices and its Apple TV set-top box. according to Recode.

Many experts say that the practice is not uncommon as many cable operators usually practice the same method where they let the customers choose and pay for a basic bundle which includes a set number of channels before offering a premium bundle much like the one that Apple is hoping to sell its customers.

Reportedly, the idea originated from Eddy Cue, Apple’s media boss who believes that the TV networks are not willing to make concessions like he wants.

Therefore, he wants to sell a TV bundle which seems an easier task since Apple is already selling the networks.Apple is approaching the three networks which are already being distributed by the company in individual capacity. The company sells HBO at $15 a month, Showtime at $11 a month, and Starz at $9 a month.

Apple has not yet offered a premium bundle like the one they are planning on till now. No comments have been made by the reps of the concerned networks. Apple representatives are also yet to comment about the finalization of the bundle and the price it will be sold at to customers which remains the main concern for all parties involved.
