The Boeing corporation has revealed a set of exciting ideas for deep space exploration of the earth’s satellite and Mars.

Boeing recently divulged some of its concepts for deep space exploration. These would corroborate and bolster NASA’s plans for human exploration of the Moon and Mars. NASA’s SLS is something which Boeing is trying hard to develop.

The habitat would be delivered to the space near the Moon. Termed the Deep Space Getaway, this habitat would support fundamental research. Also portals to world government and commercial partnerships in space would be opened up. Lunar missions would be a part of this plan.

All this would be powered by a SEP (Solar Electric Propulsion) system. The launching of human beings and cargo on SLS would lead to the gateway in four launches in the first half of the 2020s.

The Deep Space Getaway would be the ideal midway point for Mars missions. A docking system rather in the same manner as that used in the ISS would be just the thing here.

In case of the ISS, this docking system is used for commercial purposes. As for the Deep Space Transport vehicle, it would take people back and forth between the earth and Mars.

Once the crew has approached Mars within landing distance, surface missions and scientific and robotic experiments could take place in a manner of free exploration.

These would be extant in orbit around the Red Planet. The system would be such that it would protect the passengers from the hostile environment of deep space.

NASA has already hooked up with half a dozen deep space vehicles as a part of its NextSTEP program. This saw its inception take place in 2016. The lengthy journey to Mars will take all the resources at humanity’s disposal.
