Oh no they didn’t! Pepsi and Kendall Jenner face serious backlash for their new Pepsi ad campaign which had developed into a controversy

Kendall Jenner declared to the world proudly. We think that she overlooked the part where you need to be politically correct in these politically sensitive times about what kind of ad you are going to be shooting.

It looks like Kendall was so excited to become the face of Pepsi campaign, an honor held by Cindy Crawford in her prime, that she forgot to see what she was getting herself into.

Kendall being the face of Pepsi’s “Live for Now Moments Anthem,” campaign might have distracted the genius ad team from brainstorming a genuine and researched idea for the ad. It sure looks like it because the new Pepsi ad that was released on Tuesday has developed into a huge controversy.

People have backlashed on the ad very seriously because of its political incorrectness, insensitivity and lack of thought. Kendall looks like an extra, an irrelevant addition in an ad based on a protest, an idea which has been exhausted by many ad agencies already. What was Pepsi thinking?!

Twitter has become ablaze with the Pepsi ad and Pepsi controversy trends as people call out Pepsi and Kendall for belittling the Black Lives Matter protests, placing a rich, white girl in the middle of a protest which is about black people and brown people putting their lives on the line for their rights, police officers standing without their riot-gear and most importantly, all it took was one Pepsi to settle down the whole situation.

People are calling BS on the whole ad and the controversy keeps getting bigger and bigger as people pour in the current political scenario of the U.S. into the mix. Many people are calling Pepsi ad team “TONE DEAF”.

There seems to be no other explanation for this ad ever being made and released in their minds. Kendall might be facing her first ever work related controversy of this caliber. With big ad campaigns come bigger controversies. How do you think Pepsi and Kendall find their way out of this one?
