Nintendo NES Classic Edition in Stock at Target Stores

Target stores are best place to find a NES Classic in stock besides Amazon Prime Now. Updated.

Wednesday morning the Nintendo NES Classic Edition is showing up in stock again at many Target store locations. Also Amazon continues to offer the NES Classic through Amazon Prime Now. Nintendo has started to ship new NES Classic inventory last week and more stores are offering the NES again.

April 6: Target Stores continue to restock the NES Classic edition. iStockNow triggered lots of alerts for Target stores in the early morning hours. We cross referenced their alerts with stock data from BrickSeek. We found many stores to also show inventory like Target in South Gate, CA, which as 5 NES in stock. The Anaheim Hills Target in Anaheim, CA also shows 5 and the San Diego Mission Valley Target in San Diego has 4.

The amount of NES Classic in stock at Target is low. Getting to a Target store with stock early is essential to score, because of competing shoppers. The reseller prices are still 100% above list. The NES reseller offers start at $120, plus $3.99 shipping on from legit appearing resellers. The first offers in the list on might be fake offers.

Target somehow manages to get the bulk of Nintendo's new NES supply. iStockNow triggered lots of alerts for Target stores in the past hours like earlier this week.

To find an NES Classic at Target we recommend using iStockNow and BrickSeek in combination. If both services show that the NES is in stock at a select Target store, the likelihood is higher that this is indeed the case. It is also recommended to look for change in the stock information over time. If a store had zero NES the day before and now shows 12 in stock, then again the likelihood is higher that you find the NES at that store now.

It got now a bit easier to find a NES Classic, but the demand is still red hot and competition is fierce. We published a new NES Classic Shopping Guide featuring all methods to find and buy a NES Classic.

The reseller prices stay at around $125, plus $3.99 shipping on from legit appearing resellers. The first offers in the list on might be fake offers.

The first listing is for $99 and the second for $109. Both are from just launched resellers. Proceed with caution on these offers. In the past week we have seen offers below the $59.99 NES Classic list price. These offers are obviously fake. Please avoid the fake low priced reseller deals on the Nintendo Switch. These offers are a scam that lock up your cash. Read our report on the Nintendo Switch and NES Classic Amazon scam for details.

Amazon has been sitting on NES inventory and makes it available in small batches on its local delivery service since a couple weeks now. This is an obvious marketing campaign for Amazon Prime Now. The frequency is though getting higher. Today the NES Classic was available already San Jose, California.

Check the NES Classic listing for your Zip code on Amazon Prime Now. Las Vegas was the latest city to that was offered the NES Classic. The local delivery service of Amazon has offered the NES in select cities. The supply is extremely constraint. Shoppers can get notified about the NES Classic availability on Amazon Prime Now with iStockNow.

Several resellers offer still the original Nintendo NES Controller for $39.99 on This is though four times the regular price. There are plenty of 3rd party NES controller that sell for around $10.

The NES Classic supply has not improved significantly after months on the market. Target and Walmart stores have been the source of NES hunters a couple weeks ago, but both stores have not gotten significant new inventory in a long time. The last time the NES was on sale on for the regular retail price of $59.99 was on Feb. 23.

NES Classic on Amazon Prime Now

The only option that has worked in past days is Amazon Prime Now. The local delivery service of Amazon has offered the NES in select cities. The supply is extremely constraint and very sporadic. It is suspicious that only Amazon has the NES in stock and only sells them through Amazon Prime Now. It looks like Amazon set aside some NES inventory to use it to promote its local delivery service.

Amazon only allows one NES Classic order per person. There is strict limit on how many NES an account can order for a set period of time, at least 24 hours.

Ordering a NES via Amazon Prime Now is though great, but its a hassle to spot one in stock and ready for order. It arrives in 2 hours for free in the cities where Amazon Prime Now is available. NES hunters have to refresh the search for the NES Classic for their ZIP code on a regular basis to spot the NES in stock.

About the NES Classic

The $59.99 Nintendo NES Classic Edition console launched on November 11 in stores and online. The supply was extremely constraint in stores and especially online.

The palm-sized NES console, retailing for $59.99 list price, features the classic Nintendo NES controller many geeks have grown up with. The retro console comes pre-installed with 30 classic NES games including Super Mario Bros., Pac-Man, Metroid, Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda and Kirby's Adventures. The NES Classic Edition system is a miniaturized version of the groundbreaking NES, originally released in 1985.

The Holiday shopping season 2016 has been dominated by the hunt for Hatchimals and the Nintendo NES classic edition. The NES Classic demand is still strong amidst ongoing shortage. The Best Buy NES Classic and Switch sale on March 29 was worse than a Black Friday sale. We don't expect the sitatution to improve in 2017. The NES Classic will be a hard to find item into the Holiday shopping season 2017.
