  • Jay Z’s Music is Doing a Vanishing Act from Apple Music and Spotify

It looks like Jay Z’s music is doing a vanishing act from Apple Music and Spotify. However, it is extant on Google Play Music, SoundCloud Go and Tidal.

For those who want to make Jay Z’s “99 Problems” a part of their playlist for the night, things could get rough if they choose a certain range of streaming services. That is because of the fact that Queen Bee’s hubby has started confiscating his solo catalog from Apple Music and Spotify.

The new platform for Jay Z’s music is Tidal. At present, Spotify still had a few of his singles but the bulk of his music albums are missing. A spokesperson from Spotify has told MacRumors that some of Jay Z’s musical works have been deleted at the request of the man himself.

Even on Apple Music, Jay Z’s music mania has diminished down to a bare trickle of notes. Most of the albums that sent shockwaves through the world of rap music and hip hop have been noted by their stark absence.

Only a few singles and a handful of duets have been found on the streaming service. An Apple spokesperson said that everyone ought to check with Universal since this would be the move to a larger phenomenon in the future.

Google Play Music still has the bulk of his albums and music though. No dents have been made in Jay Z’s reputation on this platform which is a good thing.

Tidal is Jay Z’s personal streaming service though. As for SoundCloud Go, there too Jay Z is ruling the roost. He is the king of his castle on that site and nothing can take that accolade away from him.

About two years ago, the late musical genius named Prince withdrew his music albums from every streaming service except for Tidal. Now that he is no more, the music has returned to Apple Music and Spotify.

The universe of streaming services has shown this trend very consistently. It is a sad trend yet it is also what happens willy nilly. Spotify’s deal with Universal will dictate whether Jay Z gets to strut his stuff or not.

He wants a bigger piece of the action. It is that simple. Jay Z also has a greater control over the business negotiations going on in his musical career. Everything currently lies between the artist and the label. The consumers end up being left high and dry.
