The movie is set to release on April 12th in UK and April 14th across the US. While you wait in line to but your tickets to watch the movie, here are 5 facts that you will love,

Fast 5 is shot in Cuba
It was a big deal and rightfully so that Fast 8 scheduled a few days of shooting in Cuba. It was the first Hollywood film to get permission to shoot in Cuba after almost 25 years. Hollywood movie makers were previously banned by the Cuban government. However, the love for the franchise let Cuban people open their hearts and doors for the crew. In the official trailer for the movie, we see Dom and Letty celebrating their honeymoon in Cuba. Letty compares it to Heaven.

Charlize Theron as First Ever Female Antagonist
Every Fast and Furious movie is incomplete without a worthy adversary. The team always goes around to take on and defeat their enemies. For the past seven movies, we have seen some dangerous and evil villains including; Johnny Tran, Carter Verone, Takashi, Arturo Braga, Hernan Reyes, Owen Shaw and Deckard Shaw. We have seen female villainous roles but never before has there been main female villain in any Fast and Furious movie. Charlize Theron is playing Cipher, a criminal mastermind and cyber-terrorist who is dangerous and disarming.

Dame Helen Mirren Will be Appearing
Among the actors returning to star in Fate of the Furious including the original team including, Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson and Ludacris; Dwayne Johnson is also returning as Hobbs and Jason Statham is also reprising his role as Deckard Shaw from Fast 7. Nathalie Emmanuel who played hacker Ramsay will also be part of Fast 8 team as well as Kurt Russell’s Mr. Nobody.

The fans were still delighted to find out that more amazing actors have been added to the roster. You can expect to see Scott Eastwood in the movie as well as Charlize Theron who will be playing Cipher. One of the other names you should be excited about is Helen Mirren. Dame Helen Mirren has proven herself as a versatile and phenomenal actress and she can play a badass role like she did in the RED franchise. The details of her role have not been revealed but it has been confirmed that she won’t get to drive a car.

Hobbs and Shaw Face off
Jason Statham gave the audience a lot of fighting action in Fast and the Furious 7. He blindsided Dwayne Johnson’s Hobbs and Hobbs ended up in the hospital following their fight. He then went to face off against Dominic in a complete street style fight. With auto parts in hand, it was one of the most intense fights in Fast and Furious history. Shaw was put into maximum security prison where Hobbs told him that his fist and a body bag will be waiting when he escaped.

Fate of the Furious are keeping Hobbs promise in mind and there will be a whole fight sequence in prison where Hobbs and Shaw will tear through a whole prison to go at each other. Hobbs lines in the trailer are “I will beat you like a Cherokee drum”. The prison scene was covered by Dwayne Johnson on his Instagram where he thanked the entire crew and extras for a scene well done. So, you know that the scene is going to be intense.

Friction between the Cast Members
In what might be called a male dominated movie with amazing and empowered female characters adding a boost. Dwayne Johnson has become a part of the franchise in Fast and the Furious 5 after a fan had speculated that it would be wonderful to see him and Vin Diesel face off against each other. The actor is not entirely happy with how the movie is going though.

Vin Diesel is serving as the producer of the upcoming trilogy in the franchise and while Hobbs will be an integral part of the team, the actors don’t seem to get along behind the camera. Dwayne Johnson threw some major shade at his male co-stars in an Instagram post and wrote that his female co-stars were a delight to work with. It became apparent that the target of the blame was Vin Diesel who said that he will be telling his side of the story in return for Johnson’s comments made about him.

Many believe that it was a publicity stunt while many believe that there is truly great friction between the two heavy-weights. Whatever it might be, we will definitely see how this friction will translate on the big screen.
