  • AirPods could Repel Liquids and Act as Charging Entities

Apparently, AirPods could repel pesky liquids such as water and also act as charging entities for iPhones and smartwatches.

A new patent applied for by Apple Inc. is titled AirPods and it consists of a device that not only acts as a charger but also happens to be 100% waterproof. They could recharge the wireless headphones in a jiffy and also pump an iPhone or Apple iWatch full of electricity within a couple of minutes.

The scenario is such that Apple has visualized an AirPods case lying flat on a table and converting into an Apple iWatch charging device at the drop of a hat.

The AirPods case thus doubles as a movable charging battery. It can charge the AirPods on an internal basis as well as act on external devices in a rough and ready manner.

According to PatentlyApple, the patent illustrates how the gadget can descry whether an external device is ready to receive a dose of power or not. Among some of the things that it includes in its technological repertoire are: an optical sensor, a mass sensor and a mechanical interlock or button.

Were any of these methodological schemata activated, the device would start charging the external entity right away. These external entities may even include MacBooks.

Among the long list of devices that the deviced may charge could be included: portable music players, portable video players, cellular telephones, video cameras, digital still cameras, projection systems, gaming systems, PDAs, tablets, laptops and mobile computers.

The futuristic design of these AirPods could even be waterproof which would indeed be dandy. The waterproof seal provision would allow submersion into the oceanic depths for upto 100 feet for half an hour.

Wireless charging of the kind reproduced by the AirPods is also present in the Apple iPhone 8 which is not that different from the inductive charging that goes on in an Apple iWatch.
