Toyota has got a good thing going. Its execs feel proud to present its leg support robot to allow those with lower limb paralysis to be able to walk again.

Toyota will launch its Welwalk WW-1000 robot starting from the fall months of 2017. This is a contraption that will be available in Japan. It is essentially designed to rehabilitate those individuals who have paralyzed lower limbs.

This ailment is often the result of stroke and other diseases. The Welwalk WW-1000 comes with rehabilitation support functions which are based on motor learning theory.

The robotic support system will be calibrated to the difficulty level the user is facing in his or her life. Also feedback regarding the patient’s walking style would be very helpful in adjusting this robotic prosthetic in synch with the actions of the paralyzed individual.

The robot consists of a simple structural-functional unit. It can be easily fitted onto the paralyzed leg and has a central touch panel with handy operation features.

Toyota began its robotics wing in earnest in 1980. Since those days, it has applied car manufacturing and developmental technologies to the construction and augmentation of robotics.

The robots produced by Toyota are meant to be the companions of people and they also provide a whole lot of support and help to them on a regular basis.

This Partner Robot technology has freedom of mobility and joy of self-reliance as its twin goals. Since Japan has a fast burgeoning population of senescents, it needs this technology on an urgent basis.

The four main areas that senior citizens face difficulties in are where these robots will come in handy. These are: life support, medical support, personal life support and welfare support.

These robots will allow greater choice and independence to people and also aid their caregivers in the process. By the time the fall season of 2017 comes in full swing, Toyota will be renting out this thing called Welwalk WW-1000.

Every paralyzed individual in Japan is looking forward to that time with eager anticipation since his or her life will be made easier and better via this technology.
