Coachella 2017 is almost upon us, the stage is set, performance schedule has been announced and people are flocking in from the US and all around the world to attend one of the country’s biggest music festival. The festival will showcase various artists over the course of two weekends from April 14-16 and April 21-23.

Headlining performances include Lady Gaga, Kendrick Lamar, Radiohead, Hans Zimmer and many more. The official venue Empire Polo Club has shared the pictures for the festival and it has a hell of a party waiting for you. While you are packing to go out to Indio, California for Coachella, you need to remember these items you will need to survive in the desert of music.

1. Water

One cannot emphasize enough how important water is. Dehydration can bring you down in minutes under the sun and it can actually get you to a hospital. So be smart and keep a biodegradable water bottle in your hand carry bag or your knapsack. Keep it handy and keep hydrating at regular intervals.

2. Sunscreen

It’s going to be an open desert, under the sun and the sun is going to burn. With temperatures rising with each passing day, sun exposure can cause you severe sunburns, itches and allergies. It’s better to be safe and pack a sunscreen in your bag. Try a moisturizing sunscreen with an SPF rate that will be suitable for you and provide you protection as well.

3. Comfortable Shoes

There is going to be a lot of walking on Coachella. It is essentially a field where you have to walk to your favorite performances, food stalls, lavatories, and bars. Having parked your car in the parking lot, you’re most likely to walk for the entire day. In that case, you are going to have to need a pair of your most soft and comfortable shoes which will be easy to walk in and also allow your feet to breath. Don’t ditch your style entirely but don’t ditch your comfort for the sake of style. Plus, Coachella takes place at the Empire Polo club in Indio which is a desert and you will be walking in dirt and grass all day so it would be better to have shoes on which you won’t regret damaging.

4. Bandana

It is a must for Coachella because bandana is a multi-purpose accessory. You can tie it around your head to avoid sun burning your hair, you can tie it around your face to keep from inhaling dust and you can soak it and put it around your neck to cool off. In any case, a bandana is one of the essentials of the Coachella survival kit.

5. Hat

It's a desert, it’s open and you are going to be roaming among a lot of natural elements including the sun, dirt, grass, humid and hot weather. A hat is a must in these conditions. It will help avoid scalp burn and minimize hair damage.

6. Sunglasses

You are going to need a reliable pair of sunglasses majority of the time. The sun and the dirt are going to make your eyes sore and itchy and you will be tearing up with the heat. Wearing sunglasses will help you avoid stark exposure to sunlight and keep the heat and dirt from entering your eyes and causing any damage.

7. Phone Chargers

Coachella is offering charging ports for your phone which are going to be an essential part of your experience. However, the one thing we surely take for granted are phone chargers. You may not anticipate it but you are going to be using your phone a lot more that you want to, making video, sharing on Instagram and Snapchat, calling to coordinate with friends. Your phone battery is going to drain more than twice per day and you are going to like to keep your charger handy. In addition, power banks for charging are also a good idea since you’re not always going to find a free charging portal.

So, there you have it folks, things that you should pack if you’re heading to Coachella this weekend. Have a great time.
