We have to agree that Lucafilm and Disney’s joint venture to revive Star Wars has breathed a new life into the series. The fandom from the galaxy far, far away has already seen two blockbuster Star Wars movies in The Force Awaken and Rogue One and they are prepared to see the next installment The Last Jedi.

Meanwhile, every year the fans gather for a Star Wars celebration where all their Star Wars dreams come true. Meeting and seeing the stars, directors, creators, merchandise, new material and loads of fun. Here are 5 cool facts about this year’s Star Wars celebration.

Fantastic 40th
This year’s Star Wars celebration marked its 40th event. The event is scheduled to take place in Orlando, Florida from 13th to 16 April where fans will be treated to panels, interviews, and merchandise.

A Fuller Panel
Although the creators and the actors that have starred in the Star Wars movies try to come out to meet with the fans and sit at panels, this year’s panel was full with familiar and beloved faces including George Lucas, Kathleen Kennedy, Dave Filoni, Ian McDiarmid, Hayden Christensen, Billy Dee Williams, Peter Mayhew, Anthony Daniels, Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Billie Lourd and John Williams. Ford was a first-time attendee to the delight of the fans.

Video Messages
While the panels for the celebration were already full, stars who had been the part of prequel trilogy also made an appearance via video messages. Samuel L. Jackson called for the return of his character Mace Windu who was not confirmed dead and Liam Neeson said that he was working on a Jar JarBinks spinoff where yes, he goes to the Dark Side.

Two Generations of Skywalkers
As we know that Mark Hamill is set to make his full return in the upcoming The Last Jedi movie so there’s a Skywalker we will be catching up once more but the other actor who played Skywalker, Hayden Christensen has semi-retired from Hollywood and he is rarely seen on any events. However, it was a great moment when Christensen did come out to attend the event and even stopped for pictures with Mark Hamill.

Princess Leia in Spirit
Carrie Fischer’s death was a devastating news for us all last year and her presence was missed at the Star Wars celebration this year. Her daughter, Billie Lourd who is set to appear in The Last Jedi, personified her mother is Princess Leia white robe look and Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford flanked her for a trio photo which was adorable. Moreover, the panel was conceded by a video tribute to Carrie Fischer which brought tears to many eyes in the house.
