Moto Z2 Force Will Not be a Verizon Exclusive
  • The anticipated Moto Z2 Force will not be exclusively available for Verizon customers

Industry insider Evan Blass tweeted the smartphone will be sold by other wireless carriers across the US

The much awaited new Moto Z2 Force smartphone by Motorola will not be exclusively sold to Verizon customers. The smartphone will be sold across the US by a number of other wireless carriers such as T-Mobile.

T-Mobile was specifically mentioned in the tweet but phrased in a way suggesting it is only one of many companies offering the new smartphone. The news was confirmed by industry insider Evan Blass in a tweet yesterday. Although Blass did not provide any further details into the matter.

Last year the Moto Z Force launched by Motorola. However the device was exclusive to Verizon meaning non-Verizon customers could not buy it. For 2017 Motorola seems to be changing things as the new Moto Z2 Force won’t be exclusive to Verizon anymore.

The upcoming Moto Z2 Force is Motorola’s Android flagship and its release date is yet to be announced in the coming months. Previously a report suggested the company is working on two different smartphones.

In 2017 alone the Lenovo-owned phone maker will release two high-end handsets; the Moto Z2 and the Moto Z2 Force. Rumors has it the release date of both devices may be announced in June.

The handsets will then hit the market by the third quarter of 2017. Details on the smartphones are scarce but experts agree both devices may be powered by the Qualcomm’s latest flagship chip.

The chip is called the Snapdragon 835. Similarly both devices are also expected to contain at least 4GB of RAM. The upcoming Moto Z2 Force will also feature a 3.5mm audio port and sport Lenovo branding unlike last year’s Moto Z Force.
