Five things that you should know about Lady Gaga’s Coachella performance

Lady Gaga performed at Coachella on Saturday and here are five things that you need to know about that performance;

1. Beyoncé Replacement
As many of you might already know, especially if you were waiting for Coachella that Beyoncé was scheduled to perform this year. However, she had to back out due to her pregnancy and her health leaving a wide spot open for Coachella managers to fill. Lady Gaga who had recently come on the scene again with her new album Joanne and two big shows including the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show and Super Bowl Halftime Show under her belt seemed like the best replacement.

2. Thrilling Show Start
Lady Gaga took the baton and ran with it when she came on stage on Saturday night at 11:30 p.m. in a Night Porter cap and Thierry Mugler S&M leather trench coat to kick off her performance. Her team had hinted that Lady Gaga was going to make the performance super special for the audience and she did as she played for about 10,000 people.

3. Paying Tribute to Beyoncé
Everyone was expecting Gaga to address that she was replacing Beyoncé and instead of saying anything about it, Lady Gaga sang the song “Telephone” which was a collaboration between her and Beyoncé. Many are taking it as a tribute to the star who was supposed to perform. Lady Gaga also sang Beyonce’s parts in the song while performing it onstage.

4. Debuting a New Song
Debuting a new song at a concert is a daring feat for any artist because there is an equal probability that the fans may hate it or like it. Those are the kind of dares that Lady Gaga likes to take as she debuted her new single, “The Cure” on the stage while performing her set. With an 80’s retro sound, the song immediately became a hit with the crowd.

5. 20 Songs
She was commended for singing a great number of songs during her Super Bowl Halftime Show and she kept with the tradition as she performed 20 songs during the 90 minutes of her performance in which she sang some on the piano and some she danced on. Her set included her hits that are as follows,

Love game
John Wayne
Just dance
Born this way
Sexxx Dreams
The Cure
Edge of glory
You & I
Million reasons
Poker Face
Bad Romance

She will be performing at Coachella next week as well so you might be able to catch the phenomenon that is Lady Gaga on her next week’s performance.
