  • 5 Things We Can Guess from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 First Reactions

The first reactions are indicative of what we can expect from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 due to release in May

Guardians of the Galaxy was one of the biggest Marvel presentation that became an instant surprise hit with the audience. The story was based on the Marvel comics of the same name in which a group of outlaws band together to out aside their differences in order to save the Galaxy from Ronan the Accuser. With a lot of action, comedy and 80s music peppered nicely along with a cast that put up a fabulous performance. It was hard to fault the film and expectation are high as the Guardians are set to make a comeback in May.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is set for a worldwide release in May and the cast is currently busy promoting the movie including Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana and Dave Bautista. Marvel arranged a press screening for a handful of journalist and responders to watch and share their first, spoiler free reactions. The attendees prepared their followers to check up on their first reaction to the movie and cumulatively speaking, these are the five things that we can guess about the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

It’s Better
Except for a few of the participants, it has become very obvious from the majority of the first reactions that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is better than the first installment. Using the first movie as a benchmark itself, many commented on their social media that the second installment is a step further in every quality and aspect that made the first movie an absolute delight to watch.

It’s Funnier
One of the reasons that Guardians of the Galaxy was such a hit in the first place was its comic quality. Led by Parks and Recreation star, Chris Pratt; the movie was great in it’s subtlety to address humor in obvious and non-obvious ways. Bautista’s straightforward comments given with seriousness has given a dynamic to the layers of comedy along with Rocket’s insulting remarks. The screening’s first reactions indicate to us that Guardians of the Galaxy has taken the movie to a funnier side still. Many said that the whole screening was echoing with laughter time to time and it was an exceptionally funny movie overall.

It’s Emotional
One thing that we were surprised to learn from the first screening reactions was that the movie is going to be emotional. There were not a lot of tearjerker moments in the first movie except for Groot’s sacrifice to save them all. Or maybe Peter remembering his ill mother. That was about it and only very emotional people might have actually cried but the first reactions have revealed that there will be moments in the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 that will actually bring on the waterworks into play. So, the fans are very, very curious indeed about what emotional scenes will be featured in this epic battle to save the Galaxy once more.

The Music Takes it Home Again
The soundtrack for the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie was based on Peter Quill’s mixed tape comprising of 70s and 80s classics including Hooked on a Feeling by Blue Suede featuring in its trailer and “Come and Get Your Love” by Redbone set the tone for the entire movie in the opening scene. We got a hint of another mixed tape Peter unwrapped and put in which featured “Ain’t No Mountain Hight Enough” by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell. First reactions revealed that we will find more 70s and 80s classics in the second movie which will make us feel right at home and humming along.

Baby Groot
One character seems to have stolen the hearts of everyone who has had the fortune of watching the movie, Baby Groot. While many are pleased with Drax’s character; the ultimate cuteness that is Baby Groot has the audience captivated and they are willing to go back just to see Baby Groot in action.
Overall, the first screening reactions are positive and encouraging and show great promise for movie lovers to kick off their summer movie experience.
