HTC is all set and will launch a squeeze-worthy U phone in the summer of 2017.

It looks like HTC is busy preparing for a large happening in it native land. The electronic giant has issued a Save the Date for the midst of May 2017. Such invites are typically enveloped in an aura of enigmatic silence.

HTC is not telling all and thus keeping mum about the whole thing. The invitation says Squeeze for the Brilliant U. This message can be clearly seen through the blurred phone in the background. The company also tweeted something similar.

In the video, we can see a hand squeezing the sides of a phone. This shows us that we can interact with the phone by just giving it a squeeze. This is in line with the rumors that have been circulating about an HTC phone codenamed Ocean.

With a 5.5 inch display, it will have 4GB to 6GB of RAM. Also 64GB to 128GB of storage will be present on this phone. It will not have a headphone jack though. It will have Sense Touch facility too. This lends the user the power to call into action menus and various cool features by merely squeezing and swiping its edges.

The details are merely rumors for now though. The fans of HTC will have to wait till May of 2017 before they can be sure of what the reality looks like. HTC will be streaming the event live from Taiwan.

The HTC U will definitely be a squeezy phenomenon. It will be a case of technology which can be manipulated. HTC is a company that prides itself on giving the best it is capable of to its consumer base. This time around it will not fail to live upto its name.
