The Nintendo NES Classic Edition got a big boost in popularity when hackers found a way to install more NES games. Earlier this year the number of games NES Classic owners could install with hacking tools like hakchi2 have been in the hundreds. Now a guy showed off a NES Classic stuffed with 2,500 games.

The NES Classic has very limited storage. To upload a library of 2,500 games advanced the NES hacker used advanced compression methods. The video below shows the working NES Classic with a library of 2,500 games in action.

The library of games is of course not just comprised of original NES games. The list of games includes titles from Atari 2600, Atari 7800, Sega Genesis, Super NES, Gameboy, Arcade system and others. Follow the this reddit thread to eventually find out how to achieve this on your NES Classic.

Retro video game fans who did not manage to get their hands on a NES Classic will be even more frustrated to see what potential the Nintendo NES Classic Edition has.

As reported yesterday, we are not seeing any signs that there are new NES Classic shipments coming in this month. All stores are out of stock.
