Here is a list of ten facts and theories that have come to life after looking at the set of photos that have been released from the upcoming season 7 of Game of Thrones
The official set of 15 photos has been released by HBO and Game of Thrones fans are ecstatic. The photos include almost all the characters in some scene and while it is really exciting to see our favorite characters in various different set ups, what they might be up to in these photos are also a topic of concern. So, here are the ten facts that we can assume from the set of photos from Game of Thrones.
Winter Has Come
It is not an unknown fact. It has already been declared at the end of season 6 that the foretold arrival of Winter had come to fruition and in an iconic scene, Sansa Stark and Jon Snow tell each other that Winter has come but we can truly see that in these photos where majority of the characters are wearing heavier clothes. Furs, leather jackets and cloaks and boots are a common sight on all these characters especially Missandei And Daenerys who we have often seen in flowy, sleeveless dresses till season 6. So, the change in costume is really keeping up with that winter concept.
Jamie Lannister as the Hand
It has been a coveted position since the season 1, it is the position that ultimately led to the demise of the Stark family when they were forced to migrate to the Capitol so that Ned Stark could be the Hand of Robert Baratheon. In the sixth season, we saw Cersei Lannister become the ruler of the Seven Kingdoms and she would be in need of a loyal Hand. Jamie Lannister, who had always been close to her as all Game of Thrones fans know, might be fulfilling that position as his father Tywin Lannister once did on more than one occasion. Actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau might have even dropped some hints about that in an interview he did a few months ago.
Lyanna Mormont Returns
How can a little girl be more effective that a room full of men season by war? Little Lyanna Mormont was the breath of fresh air during the last few episodes of season 6 where she gave Jon Snow a verbal thrashing so bad that dying might have seemed like a better option and then schooled a room full of Lords about loyalty. She will be appearing in Season 7 as well it seems from the photo in which she looks on with smugness and sass that she has become known for.
Samwell and Gilly at Work
One of the happier scenes in season 6 was seeing Samwell Tarly and Gilly arriving at the Citadel. Having proven himself a scholarly individual, fans were happy that he had finally arrived at a place suited to his capabilities as he had been appointed the new Maester by Jon Snow. In one of the photos, we see Samwell and Gilly studying in candlelight and we can assume that they are working hard at recording the history of the Seven Kingdoms as it is about to be changed.
Will Bran Cross the Wall?
In various episodes of Season 6, we have seen Bran Stark making his journey towards the Wall and alos travelling through time and space to seek truth about his father, his friends and even the enemy, the Night Walkers. While he has been paralyzed, Bran has endured and strengthened over time in the use of his powers of the mind and it can be believed that he will play a pivotal role in the war against the Night Walkers that Jon Snow and allies are preparing for.
Start of a New Romance Maybe
Brienne of Tarth is a revered character on the Game of Thrones. She had fought and struck either fear or respect in the hearts of her competitors and allies and has been honored by those in command as a loyal and brave warrior including Catelyn Stark and Jamie Lannister but never have we seen her rolling her eyes like she did when Tormund smiled at her in season 6. In one of the new photos, Tormund appears a little combed down as he is saying something to Brienne with a flirty look on his face and we are all screaming inside if this could be a new romance we can all ship for?
Talking about the romantic relationships on the show, there is one that is just not happening and we are still not sure we want it to happen. In another photo, we see Lord Petyr Baelish aka Little finger and Sansa Stark standing in a balcony and they seem to be looking at something. We know that Sansa has already refused his proposal and Baelish still wants to marry her for various personal reasons so let’s see whether he could finally get Sansa to say ‘yes’ this season.
The Hound Returns
To all our surprise, we found out that The Hound or Sandor Clegane had somehow survived the deadly fall at the hands of Brienne of Tarth and he was living a plain and peaceful life with some sort of a cult. He was however forced to turn violent once more against the men who had killed his new family and we see him going off to fight. It looks like he is making his way to somewhere cold in one of the pictures and we are thinking that he might be heading to the North. If so? Will he face off against Brienne of Tarth once more?
Jon Snow-King of the North
In the picture of Jon Snow, we see him now in a more royal ensemble much suited to his new status as the King of the North as he was declared by his allies at the end of Season 6. In contrast to other pictures though, Jon seems to be standing in a lit hallway that remind us of the hallway where Sansa once saw the statue of Lyanna Stark and we are wondering whether Jon is looking at his mother (if he is her son that is)
It does not often happen that we have seen a group of followers behind any ruler that hangs about them as Daenerys’s group does comprising of Missandei, Tyrion Lannister, Grey Worm, and latest addition Varys. All the characters have a photo each to themselves in the new set and in another shot where they are all standing behind Daenerys and looking towards someone.
