  • Samsung Mobile Devices' default music app will be Google Play Music

Samsung is all set to utilize Google Play Music as the default music application on its gadgets. This is news for many fans of Samsung.

Samsung is supporting Google Play Music in a big way. With the market release of its Galaxy S8, both Samsung and Google announced that Google’s app will appear on Samsung’s platform. The Galaxy S8 seems to be the ideal venue for kicking off this drive.

However, when you look at it from a certain angle, it all actually began in 2016. This app was the default mode on the Galaxy S7 as well. Samsung had tried its best to slash double apps from coinciding with services on Google’s Android platform.

What has been transformed in the process is that Google’s Play Music service is being souped up for the sake of Samsung’s consumer base. Galaxy S8 owners may download upto 100,000 tracks to the cloud locker, according to Engadget.

This allows streaming to take place virtually anywhere. For the rest, the limit remains at 50,000 tracks. This is a free feature that does not cost a single cent. Subscriptions are for other stuff this time around since Google is in competition with Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music as well as several other big shots in the business.

Galaxy S8 buyers will receive a free three month long trial period for Google Play Music, according to The Verge. This is similar to what counts for owners of Google’s own Pixel smartphone and various other selective Android devices.

While these three months are for new subscribers and not for already existent customers, the offer is one that no one with even an ounce of common sense can refuse.

Google has several surprises up its sleeves. Play Music will also have Bixby which is Samsung’s smartphone accessory tagging along with it for the ride. Voice commands will be the order of the day from now onwards thanks to this cool facility.

The Samsung and Google partnership is one that is good to go. Music will flow on the airwaves from now onwards. The Samsung music application must be downloaded from the Play Store though. A similar case was extant with the Galaxy S7.
