Best Buy stores reportedly hold NES Classic consoles for Monday, April 24. Updated.

Some Best Buy stores already sell the NES Classic on Sunday or are handing out tickets for the NES Classic on April 24. Some NES hunters are already in line this morning at Best Buy stores to make sure not to miss the $59.99 NES Classic.

A Minnesota guy got two tickets for the NES Classic sales event on April 24. He shared a snap of the tickets on Twitter. He doesn't have to line up early Monday morning anymore. He can show up within three hours after the doors open to grab his NES Classic consoles.

The new Best Buy ad does not mention the NES Classic sale. This means that not all stores will have the NES Classic in stock on Monday. This NES Classic sale at Best Buy stores is likely the last time the NES Classic will be available at Best Buy. Nintendo discontinued NES Classic Edition driving up the value of the NES Classic to about $300.

The lowest priced Nintendo NES Classic console sells for $299 on amazon.com. A trip to your local Walmart store can mean a $240 saving or profit, depending on which side you are in the NES hunting game.

Nintendo said that there are still new NES Classic consoles coming in April to retailers. We have seen some Walmart stores getting the NES Classic in stock, but only in limited fashion.

The $59.99 Nintendo NES Classic Edition console launched on November 11 in stores and online. The supply was extremely constraint in stores and especially online. On April 13, Nintendo announced to stop production of the NES Classic Edition. The last shipments of the NES Classic arrive through April.

The palm-sized NES console, retailing for $59.99 list price, features the classic Nintendo NES controller many geeks have grown up with. The retro console comes pre-installed with 30 classic NES games including Super Mario Bros., Pac-Man, Metroid, Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda and Kirby's Adventures. The NES Classic Edition system is a miniaturized version of the groundbreaking NES, originally released in 1985.

The ability to mod the NES Classic and install an unlimited number of games has renewed the hype around the retro console. The latest hack enables the NES Classic to store 2,500 games.

The 80s retro console launched on November 11, 2016. As of December 31, 2016, Nintendo has sold 1.5 million NES Classic Edition. New official NES Classic sales numbers for 2017 are expected to be released on April 27. Read the latest Nintendo NES Classic updates.
