Apple Watch Series 3 May Launch Alongside iPhone 8

Wearable could be pushed back to the spring of 2018 says rumor

A rumor that sheds a bit more detail on the Apple Watch Series 3 has turned up and this rumor suggests that the new Apple Watch Series 3 smartwatch might turn up alongside the iPhone 8. Launch is tipped or fall of 2017 and while rumors suggest launch with the iPhone 8, there is a chance that the launch might be pushed back to spring of 2018.

Some of the other rumors that Tom's Guide lists are things we have heard before such as that the Series 3 will have its own LTE connection to allow you to use the wearable without your smartphone. Series 3 wearables are also tipped to be gaining a front camera that will allow for users to make FaceTime calls while on the go. The battery is tipped to run longer thanks to a new microLED screen.

One of the coolest features is tipped to be a modular wristband that can be easily replaced with bands that have other cool tech in them. Previously we had heard that this tech would include a smart band that would show notifications and such. The Apple glucose testing technology is also tipped in this rumor to come as a band for the wearable eventually.

The operating system will be watchOS 4 with new fitness and health assessments. Pricing for Apple Watch Series 3 is tipped to remain in the $300 to $500 range that the current watch falls into. This rumor suggests that the cellular connectivity might not actually make it to the coming watch due to the need for a larger battery to power the cellular connectivity. I would think that the move to the microLED screen could save enough power for the LTE connection to be viable.
