While (once again) it won't be a good idea to use emulators to play Nintendo Switch games, the upcoming "Rainway" app will allow streaming of PC games on the Switch, Xbox One, smartphones, and other sources.

The app, which is developed by Andrew Sampson (the man behind the Borderless Gaming and Steam Cleaner), will allow you to stream almost any PC game to all GPUs where you can stream to a web browser - including Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, phones, and tablets.

“Rainway’s signature feature is that it’s available on any device with a web browser. You’ll simply visit play.rainway.io, log in, and kick back with your favorite games. Native apps for Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and other platforms are being developed to provide an even more seamless experience”, per the announcement on Ulterius. They also announced that you should be able to stream at 60 FPS.

The app will be available through the Nintendo eShop upon release and will support different controllers.

Per the app's official website, you won't need to buy any addition hardware, but if you have a GPU that supports DirectX11, you can also take advantage of the Rainway MSG protocol. While there isn't a release date announced yet, it is expected to go into beta next month.

We will keep you updated on how everything works when it releases.
