President Donald Trump contacted astronaut Peggy Whitson aboard the ISS.

President Donald Trump called Peggy Whitson who is an astronaut aboard the ISS from the Oval Office. She had spent the maximum number of days in space for an astronaut. Trump, his daughter Ivanka and astronaut Kate Rubins called her today. The call went on for 20 minutes.

It was broadcast live to various educational institutions, museums and other venues in the United States. NASA is working in synch with the Department of Education in this regard.

Today, Peggy has reached a grand total of 535 days in space. This breaks Jeff Williams’ record of 534 days. These days spent in space have been accumulated via three voyages to the ISS.

Peggy was the first woman to lead the ISS. Whitson arrived aboard the ISS in November, 2016. Trump is reported to have said in the receiver that it was a very special day in the glorious history of American spaceflight.

He told Peggy that she had broken the record for the most number of days spent in space by any astronaut. It was an incredible record to break, Trump went on to say.

Trump personally, and on behalf of all the citizens of the USA, thanked Peggy Whitson for making America proud. Peggy meanwhile said that it was indeed an honor to have accomplished this much.

Trump also jokingly said that the astronauts were better than some of the politicians out there. Trump even discussed the future of space travel by saying that Mars was the next step after the moon for landing a man or woman via spaceship.

Donald Trump spoke of how going to Mars may be accomplished during his first term in office or second one for that matter. When Donald Trump was informed that the astronauts aboard the ISS convert their urine to water via a filtration machine and then drink it, he said that it was an okay scheme but it was something that they looked good doing and not him.
